Vegas

The WPPI conference was a very successful trip for Grand Lubell Photography. I picked up a TON of new software and Photoshop templates/brushes and tutorials. It's always important to attend these conferences to stay up to date on what's happening across the country in this business. Things are changing constantly, and it's a job in itself to keep up with the trends! But we enjoy learning new things and are constantly researching and experimenting.

One of the big events at the conference was what they called "The Big Night" which was held in the MGM Grand Arena with live entertainment by Blues Traveler. I was able to get VIP access to the 2nd floor in Studio 54, and even shot a few videos/photos with the new camera. Check out the video below that I shot at Studio 54 with a lens baby. The distortion of the lens baby gives an interesting effect to the lights of the club!

Our Girls!

Stevie here! Just wanted to post some of the new stuff I've been working on! I've been experimenting with some new lighting set-ups and these black and white Couple Sessions. It was convenient to be able to use our intern Lauren (above) with her boy, and one of our employees Rachel (below) with her's to test it out! We've had some very interesting shoots lately that I will hopefully be posting about soon, but for now I'm off to Detroit Metro Airport to pick up Bob. He's been in Vegas (jealous!) this whole week at the WPPI convention and is sure to bring back some great tips, tools, and tricks that we all can't wait to check out. Enjoy your evening!

Bride's Choice!

We have had a very exciting year so far! First the Toledo City Paper, and now the Wedding Wire's Bride's Choice Award! Thank you to all of our clients and friends who voted for us in either of these two awards!

The pace is definitely picking up around here. We're seeing our Wedding seasons filling up for both this year and next! (No worries, we are still booking!!) We've had a steady stream of Ambassadors for our 2o10 seniors which has been a fun and creative outlet for Stevie. Feel free to check out our senior blog at GLPseniors.blogspot.com to see some of the newer shoots!

Happy President's Day!! Who is your favorite president?

Best of 2008!

This issue of the Toledo City Paper is extremely exciting for us, here at Grand Lubell Photography! We are thrilled to have Stevie named as the Best Fine Art Photographer, and are also excited to be named runner-up for the Best Photographer category! If you haven't checked out this issue, be sure to pick it up this week to see all of the winners in each category. It's a great way to find new restaurants, shops, and events around town! Check out the site here.

On a side note, we had a bit of a mishap this morning - our electricity in the office went out with a bang and left us powerless (no pun intended) for a couple of hours! Luckily, our phone stayed connected and we were able to stay busy until lunch time when the power returned. Now I can't believe it's already 3 o'clock! Hope you all have a great weekend, and enjoy Valentine's Day. Remember, it's not too late to come in for a photo session with your sweetie with our Winter special pricing. Call us today!

Lunch Time!

One of our favorite places to eat these days is Chandler Cafe. Located on Main Street in downtown Sylvania, it is a convenient and delicious take-out option for our lunches here at the office. Rachel and I trekked over there on Tuesday to pick up lunch for Lyndsey, Bob and the two of us.

The owners of Chandler Cafe are no strangers to our studio either. They had their family portrait taken here as well as the senior pictures for the boys. If you haven't made it out to Chandler Cafe yet, be sure to stop there the next time you are craving a delicious lunch - you might just see us there!

theknot.com

We are very excited to be featured in the Spring/Summer issue of The Knot, Ohio! Jordan & Chaz were married June 7th last year, and the wedding was absolutely gorgeous. Beautiful landscaping, phenomenal ice sculptures, and great weather came together to create their perfect day. You can tell from the feature that Stevie had a lot of fun with the photography! Make sure to pick up this issue!

Jordan and Chaz's wedding can also be found in the real weddings section of The Knot's website (check it out here) and be sure to look through the rest of theknot.com as the site is full of advice, resources, and ideas!
